About Leeds Roof Care
We are a roofing company working across Leeds and the West Yorkshire towns around it. Every job starts with a free survey and photographs of what has failed. You then get a fixed written quote with scaffold, waste and materials listed separately, so you can see what you are paying for before you commit to anything.
How we work
Every job starts the same way. You tell us the property type, the postcode and what you have noticed. We come out, get onto the roof where access allows it and use a pole camera where it does not, then look at the whole roof rather than the single slate you rang about.
You get photographs. Real images of the flashing, the valley, the ridge, the slates and anything else that has failed, with a plain explanation of what caused it and how urgent it is. That is the point where most people work out whether they trust a roofer, so we put it first.
Then the quote. It is written, itemised and dated. Scaffold, licence, skip, materials, labour and making good appear as separate lines. The figure you accept is the figure you pay, and if something turns up under the slates we stop, photograph it and agree the change with you in writing before carrying on.
What we promise on every job
A free survey with photographs, with no charge if you decide to do nothing.
A fixed written price with the access cost shown separately, so you can see how much of your bill is the scaffold.
No payment upfront on repairs. Those are invoiced when the work is done and you are happy with it.
Scaffold arranged for you, including the Leeds City Council highways licence where it stands on a pavement, and struck as soon as the job is signed off.
A tidy site. Old slates, torn felt and broken timber go in our skip or our van. We sweep the yard, the ginnel and the footpath before we leave, and we use a magnet sweeper where nails have been dropped on a drive.
Photographs of the finished work, sent to you before the scaffold comes down, alongside a written guarantee on the workmanship with the term stated on your quote.
The work we take on
Roof repairs, full re-roofs in slate, stone slate and tile, flat roofing in EPDM and GRP, chimney work and leadwork, guttering, fascias and soffits, and dry ridge and verge systems. Domestic roofs are the core of it, along with rental property and small commercial buildings for local landlords.
We say no to work we are not right for. If a roof needs structural engineering input, or a job needs a specialist heritage contractor for listed stonework, we will tell you and point you in a sensible direction.
Coverage and response
We are based in LS6 and work across Leeds, out to Wetherby in the east, Morley in the south and Horsforth and Pudsey in the west. Survey slots are usually free within a few days. When water is coming into the house we treat it differently and aim to attend the same day to make the roof safe.
Bigger jobs get scheduled around you. Landlords with student property plan around the July changeover, homeowners often want work done before winter, and we will tell you honestly when the next realistic slot is rather than promising a date we cannot hold.
Common questions
What areas do you cover?
Leeds and the towns around it. Headingley, Roundhay, Horsforth, Chapel Allerton, Morley, Pudsey and Wetherby have their own pages, and we work the districts in between as well. If you are outside that ring, ring us and ask. We will say yes or no on the phone rather than waste your time.
Do you charge for a survey or a quote?
No. The survey, the photographs and the written quote are free and there is no obligation attached to them. If we think your roof does not need the work you rang about, we will tell you that and charge you nothing for saying so.
Do you take a deposit?
Not on repairs. Those are invoiced on completion. On larger jobs where materials have to be ordered in, any stage payment is set out on the quote before you accept it, and you will never be asked for cash on the doorstep.
Can I see the fault before I agree to the work?
Yes, and we think you should. Photographs of every fault come to you with the quote. If you want to understand what you are looking at, ask. We would rather spend ten minutes explaining a flashing detail than have you accept a price you do not understand.
